Y’all, I can’t stop talking about how amazing Texas producer C.L. Butaud is. The odds are good that if you’ve talked to me in real life about my favorite wine producers, I have talked your ear off about C.L. Butaud. And now, I can’t wait to officially introduce you to these incredible wines as well!
C.L. Butaud is a Texas wine label created by Randy Hester, a winemaker who cut his chops in Napa Valley. After learning from some of the greatest California winemakers, he and his wife Brooke moved to back to Texas with the goal of producing ultra premium wines made of 100% Texas grown grapes. Their first harvest was in 2014.
I love that C.L. Butaud focuses on making Texas terroir-driven wines designed to be extremely high quality and totally delicious. I’ve been able to try many of their wines, including their imminently crushable and interesting Papa Frenchy line of wines (named after the OG C.L. Butaud, Randy Hester’s grandfather) to their incredible single vineyard bottlings. Let me tell you, they do not miss.
Texas wines are generally challenging to find outside of the state, but fortunately C.L. Butaud ships to wherever you are. Texas friends, be on the lookout for these wines at local wine shops and restaurants–you can look on their website for a location near you.
